Hi! I am Shuayb!
I am a full stack developer with speciality in marketing.
What I have done so far!
Tangerine Bank
Front End Developer
Spending and Borrowing
My team works on creating amazing user experiences for Tangerine’s Spending and Borrowing clients. I assist in executing the top-to-bottom design of the client journey and lead the development team to build these assets.
Every month, basis our team launches 2-3 promotional campaigns consisting of landing pages, modals, emails, home page banners, etc. We target somoe 250,000 to 500,000 clients and we expect to have a sign up rate of 1-5%.
Internal Innovation
Our goal is simple: To improve our internal processes through innovation. Our extreme focus to improve our clients' journey that we neglect to optimize our own internal process. I’m sure you’re dying to know, so yep, that’s a 99.76851% efficiency rate.
We built the "Asset Simulator", an internal application used to generate mock-ups for our marketing assets such as landing pages and emails. Using this application we can generate mock-ups within 10 minutes. Previously, a mock-up request sent to the design team would take up to 3 days to process. This internal application has been adapted by the entire marketing department and copy writing team (~60 people).

Personalization
Personalization team’s goal is to deliver delightful, compelling, and personalized digital experiences. As a front-end developer, I was directly involved in the creating these digital experiments for all our credit cards journeys by analyzing data on competition, customers, advertising, and past initiatives. The web experiments initiated by my team had a ~68% success rate and contributed to ~$10 million annualized incremental revenue.
Email Marketing
The BMO’s email marketing team identified a pressing issue: a significant amount of emails captured by lead capture form were invalid. To solve this issue, we decided to implement a third party API service called BriteVerify that validated emailsc. This API was implemented on ~150 BMO pages and BMO Harris pages which resulted in the elimination of invalid emails being captured.

Software Engineer (Intern)
I was a lucky intern to work with the Ontario Power Generation’s Engineering Programs Team. During my 16-month internship I queried SQL data (~10 million data records) to create monthly and quarterly equipment status reports. Furthermore, I implemented initiatives to ensure that the equipment was maintained according to the highest priority.

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)
Ryerson presented me a variety of opportunities. My professors went above and beyond their role. They invested their time to push and challenge me, so that I can grow. My experience playing organized basketball showed me the power of leading by example as well the power of empathetic leadership. My tenure with the research group of the laser nano fabrication lab taught me the importance of having structure and systems in place when dealing with high levels of uncertainty. My engagement in Ryerson’s engineering & innovation projects sparked my obsession with software development, and strengthened my tolerance to adversity.
I ranked in the top 5 percentile of my class. I was a part of the Ryerson's scholars and the Engineering Dean's list for 4 consecutive years. Ryerson sparked my ambition to set on a path of self-improvement through learning, showed me my passion for software engineering and surrounded me with a group of exceptional peers who I can look up to.
